Reopening Westwood Church

A glimpse of what is to come for our church community.

Westwood Gathering Plan FAQs

We are able to meet inside for our 9:00 and 10:30am services. Capacity limits are still at 50% and we are set up to accomodate that with proper distancing in our seating. We will have adequate hand sanitizer available as well as cleaning of high touch areas. We asks our guests to follow city and state guidelines by encouraging the use of masks when indoors, maintaining social distance and not attending if you aren’t feeling well.

Services are paperless, so make sure you have our app, Westwood MN, downloaded on your smart phone to follow along with sermon notes, fill out a prayer request or fill out a Connect Card. We will not be providing coffee or donuts at this point, but you are welcome to bring your own personal beverage in a covered container.

Our KidCity Classrooms are available for ages 2 to Grade 4 at the 10:30am service. Our KidCity staff will be sanitizing all surfaces, wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and are ready for an engaging, fun and safe time with your kids. Uptown Kids should wear a mask to attend. All kids need to RSVP before each Sunday (use the RSVP button on our home page). We ask that if your kids are feeling ill, that you stay home until all symptoms have passed.

We will continue to provide both services ONLINE as well.

Which church service should I attend?

You are welcome to attend whichever service serves you and your household best. We are required to keep capacity at 50% at this time, but do not see an issue with keeping attendance under that percentage. We will continue to provide our full services ONLINE. Both service times will be online at 9:00 & 10:30 a.m. Use the button on the home page to watch along or go to live.westwoodstcloud.org.

If you do plan on attending services, we want you to know we have done our due diligence to make sure Westwood is a safe and healthy environment. Our seating is socially distanced, we’ll have plenty of hand sanitizer available and will be cleaning high-touch areas between services.  Our staff and volunteers will be wearing face masks to help keep everyone safe and comfortable.

If your household is ready to come inside for church, we ask three simple things:

    1. Please only come if everyone in your household is feeling well.
    2. Parents, we trust your decision if you feel your little ones can stay with you and maintain social distance.  Our Downtown KidCity is open for our 2-5 year olds and Uptown KidCity is open for kids in Grades K-4 at our 10:30am service only. Parents are required to RSVP their children(s)’ expected attedance the week before. RSVP link can be found on home page of this website.
    3. We follow city and state mandates for masks and expect our guests to do the same.

Because we are only allowed to open at 50% capacity, we will need to work together as we begin to regather as a church.

How can I connect in a group or to serve in our community?

Visit the I want to connect page or you can contact us directly. For groups, email Pastor Dave at: dave.sautner@westwoodstcloud.org to get more information about groups, or email Robyn at: robyn.hennen@westwoodstcloud.org to find out about service opportunities. We are doing our best to identify different ways to engage our community; however, the pandemic has presented challenges that our community partners are addressing. Stay tuned!

Will there be childcare?

We’re excited to share that we re-opened KidCity Downtown and Uptown on Sun, Sept 20. This has certainly been a challenging season for families, and we believe this will be a great opportunity to invest in our kids and families in the days to come. Helping children understand the truths in scripture is one of the most important investments we can make as a church.

In order to make our children’s ministry spaces a safe place for children and the whole family, it is necessary that some things be a little different during this season. Here are a few changes to expect:
SERVICE TIMES
We’re offering KidCity Uptown (grades K-4) and Downtown (ages 2-5) at the 10:30 a.m. service only. We will adjust and include the 9am service if we experience a greater demand from families as time goes on. There will be available spaces for parents who wish to hold their infants or one-year-olds and watch the service as well.

RSVP
Due to limited space available per suggested health guidelines, families will need to RSVP through our website (RSVP button is on home page of this website). This will provide a safe environment and ease the check-in process through pre-printed name-tags.

SAFETY MEASURES
As always, we are working to make our KidCity programming as safe and engaging as possible. KidCity volunteers will wear face masks, sanitize hands, and be symptom free. We also have markers on the floor to help remind us to practice social distancing. We are asking that parents follow these guidelines as well. Children in Uptown will be required to wear a mask throughout the morning; however, kids in Downtown will not be required to do so. In addition to this, children will have their temperature taken prior to check-in, and will be asked a few questions before they sanitize their hands.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Leading children to a greater understanding of Jesus is an incredible opportunity! We are in need of several volunteers each Sunday who are willing to care for and invest in our kids. If you would like to learn more about serving in Kidcity, please contact Matt at Matt.reeve@westwoodstcloud.org.

God is doing big things in His Church, pandemic or not, and we’re ready to get started with KidCity!
We look forward to partnering with parents to help create a fun and safe place for your children.
